Araceli Centeno
Director, Thriving Communities
As Liberty Hill’s new Director of Thriving Communities, Araceli’s tasked with the success of the Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program—a passthrough grant from the Environmental Protection Agency that provides subgrants to community-based nonprofits and other eligible organizations. Araceli joins our dynamic Environmental Justice team which works with frontline organizations in the fight for a safer, healthier and greener Los Angeles.
Thaise comes to Liberty Hill with years of experience working on social justice causes and is coming to us most recently from the McCune Foundation where she served as their first program officer, securing funding, providing technical assistance, and capacity building to community organizations in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Diego Bravo
Director, Ready to Rise
Diego joins Liberty Hill as our new Director of our Ready to Rise program and will work with government, foundation, and community partners to expand opportunities, resources, community-defined practices, and enrichment services for LA youth. With close to a decade of experience working in the nonprofit sector, Diego brings his expertise in resource development and policy advocacy to our Youth & Transformative Justice team.
Diego comes to Liberty Hill after eight years at the Oakland-based organization, Safe Passages, where he worked on research and advocacy for various community-defined evidence practices. Welcome to the team, Diego!
