By Andres Magaña

Liberty Hill’s Liberty Vote! initiative supports frontline grassroots organizations that engage in electoral organizing, advocacy, and other civic engagement strategies in Los Angeles County. As part of this nonpartisan electoral engagement program, we provide social and economic justice organizations with the resources they need to engage, educate and organize LA voters to build electoral power at the ballot box.

Meet some of our Liberty Vote! grantee partners:

InnerCity Struggle

Low voter turnout is a significant factor threatening LA communities and their abilities to access vital resources. That’s why Liberty Vote! grantee partners at InnerCity Struggle are hard at work year-round to educate, motivate, and mobilize local voters—building an empowered electorate that best represents LA communities!

LA Voice

Liberty Vote! grantee partner LA Voice is a multi-racial, multi-faith organization that believes that every voice matters—especially true when it comes to major decisions impacted by the election process. Together, in partnership with its network of 65+ congregations across LA county, LA Voice works day to day to engage and mobilize voters to build an electorate that represents all LA communities.

Black Women for Wellness

Liberty Vote!  grantee partners Black Women for Wellness (BWW) work to ensure that the issues that disproportionately affect their communities are spotlighted and amplified during and between election cycles. Through their robust civic engagement initiatives, BWW provides voter education, registration, and outreach with the goal of increasing the electoral and political power of Black women and girls in LA County.

LAANE

Since 2012, the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy (LAANE) has aimed to build electoral power for systemic disadvantaged communities in the City of Long Beach through its voter engagement project, “Long Beach Rising!” We are proud to support the grassroots work of Liberty Vote! grantee partners like LAANE as they work to build, engage and empower local residents and workers.

PowerCA Action

Liberty Vote! grantee partners PowerCA Action work to build the political power of young people of color to pass progressive legislation, elect candidates and hold candidates accountable to governing with an agenda that centers the voice of our communities. PowerCA Action’s vision for an inclusive democracy in which all California residents have a voice is realized through their work!

SCOPE

SCOPE builds grassroots power to create social and economic justice for low-income, immigrant, woman, femme, black, and brown communities in Los Angeles. As Liberty Vote! grantee partners, SCOPE is spearheading work to strengthen progressive policy and improve voter education efforts across Los Angeles.
