This month, both Liberty Hill Foundation and our President & CEO Shane Murphy Goldsmith were honored at awards ceremonies to recognize our dedication and commitment to social justice.

The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles honored Shane with the Access to Justice Award for her leadership in promoting access to justice and supporting systemic change for disadvantaged communities. The award is awarded each year to an individual whose lifetime of service has created transformative change in low-income communities across Los Angeles. Past recipients of the Access to Justice Award include Father Greg Boyle of Homeboy Industries, civil rights champion Reverend James Lawson, and labor rights leader Dolores Huerta.

Liberty Hill was also awarded with the Purple Lily Award from Latine/x LGBTQ+ non-profit and Liberty Hill community partners, Latino Equity Alliance! As the nonprofit’s first source of funding, Liberty Hill was recognized by LEA for our outstanding support, advocacy, and leadership in paving the way for the Latine/x LGBTQ+ community in LA. The Purple Lily Awards is an annual gala dedicated to honoring trailblazers and visionaries who help create safer, healthier, and more inclusive spaces for the Latine LGBTQ+ community.
