LGBTQ & Gender Justice

Liberty Hill envisions a society in which all people have a powerful voice and will not rest until society provides justice and equality for all.

LGBTQ & Gender Justice at Liberty Hill

Liberty Hill has been supporting LGBTQ community organizing in Los Angeles since the 1970’s. While the LGBTQ movement has changed the fabric of American society over the past half a century, equality has not expanded equally across all communities.

Low income, often immigrant, queer people of color are often at the forefront of fights for workers rights, racial justice, and reform of the criminal justice and immigration systems, yet they still face significant challenges.

A New Generation

Liberty Hill is listening to this new generation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer leaders who are experienced, informed and equipped to devise solutions.

Our Rapid Response Funds and Fund for Change

Support several LGBTQ groups and racial justice groups that address the intersection of LGTBQ and racial justice issues.

Ending Discrimination

Our partners are also working to end the continuing discrimination and exclusion of transgender and gender non-conforming communities.

Grassroots Groups We Support

Ensure equity for the most vulnerable

LGBTQ and Gender Justice have always been at the center of our work. Now more than ever, it is critical we continue to fund and build the capacity of LGBTQ groups led by people of color as we strive toward a more just future.
