Ashley Tatang
Program Manager
I am fueled by both the love I have for my communities and people, and the anger I have at injustice. What drives me in this work is my belief in a rich future where my parents and all generations of immigrants are equipped to thrive - physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Ashley Tatang (she/her) is the Program Manager working across multiple programs including the EJ Ready Initiative, the Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program, and the STAND-LA Coalition.
Ashley is a second-generation Indonesian-American raised in Deland, FL. She attended the University of Florida where she majored in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience with a minor in Health Disparities. Working in both clinical settings and student organizing spaces, she discovered a passion for people power and targeting root causes of health that disproportionately affect marginalized communities.
In 2021, Ashley moved to Los Angeles, CA to pursue her Master of Public Health from UCLA Fielding School. Since graduating in 2023, she has conducted research on AAPI youth health, anti-Asian hate post COVID-19, and environmental and structural racism. Most recently, she served as a Program Manager at Chinatown Service Center's Resiliency Center, which aims to support victims and community members affected by the mass shooting that occurred in Monterey Park in January 2023. In this role, she led trauma-informed health initiatives, provided technical assistance, and helped with community capacity building.
