Jack McCurley
Chief Operating Officer
To me, social justice is about putting words into action. It’s about listening first, then empowering communities with the support they need to cultivate leaders from within. Liberty Hill has been a beacon of hope and progressive change for more than 40 years, and I am honored to help drive this transformative legacy into the future.
Jack is the Chief Operating Officer at Liberty Hill Foundation, where his mission is to champion integrity, continuous growth, and justice. These core values shape his approach to building power and equity in oppressed communities, aligning seamlessly with Liberty Hill’s vision of a society where racial, economic, environmental, and social justice prevail. Jack is dedicated to amplifying the voices of those oppressed by systemic injustices, ensuring that everyone has a powerful voice.
With a 20-year career in nonprofit and foundation management, Jack has consistently focused on multiplying operating budgets and redefining organizational structures to create lasting impact. At Liberty Hill, he led efforts that doubled the staff and donor base, rooted in his belief in fostering a culture where diverse ideas flourish and investments in progressive philanthropy pay off. Jack is committed to dismantling white supremacy, a dedication that involves ongoing self-reflection and shaping his own actions, driving him to support and amplify the voices of marginalized people.
An Arizona native and now a proud Angeleno, Jack fights for progressive movements in L.A. County, believing that the change sparked here can inspire and shape movements elsewhere. He holds degrees in Music, Human Services, and Organizational Development, bringing a diverse and dynamic perspective to his work at Liberty Hill Foundation.
