We live in a society where the zipcode we're born into determines the quality of air we breathe, type of school we attend, jobs we have access to, and even our life expectancy. I want to aid in work that dismantles oppressive systems where luck determines our stations in life.
Wahid has worked in community-based organizations and non-profits throughout his career. His passion for community engagement has led him to work in healthcare advocacy, youth development, economic mobility, and housing justice. Wahid has worked in grassroots CBOs, multi-national non-profits, and community foundations on the east coast, midwest, and bay area. Born in Oakland, CA, Wahid is excited to be back in California aiding movement and power building work at Liberty Hill.
As the Senior Manager of Grants, Wahid works to ensure that operational processes run smoothly for Liberty Hill Foundation grantees.
